Technically pure iron – Low-carbon steels, magnetically soft
Technically pure iron – commonly called Armco. Magnetically soft low-carbon steel, with very low carbon and other admixtures content (max 0.5%). It is characterized by easy change of magnetization direction and corrosion resistance, it has very good zinc coating adhesion. The basic grade of low-carbon or non-alloy magnetic soft steel is 04 J according to PN 89 / H -84023 / 02, C max = 0.035%, Mn max = 0.25%, Si max = 0.02%, P max = 0.025%, S max = 0.030%, Cr max = 0.10%, Ni max = 0.10%, Cu max = 0.10%, Al max = 0.02% - 0.07%. Mechanical properties Rm = 340 MPa, Re = 180 MPa, A5 = 40%, Z = 65%.
